Turkey to Raise Pension Payments by up to 19% in July 2026

The Social Security Institution (SGK) and the Central Bank’s market participants survey indicate that pension benefits for SSK and Bağ‑Kur retirees are set to increase by about 18 % in July 2026, with a possible rise to roughly 19 % if June’s inflation matches the forecast of 1.36 %. Civil‑servant retirees are expected to see a rise of around 14 %. The increase will be applied to each pensioner’s “kök” (base) salary; the lowest pension, currently capped at 20,000 TL, is projected to rise to between 23,500 TL and 24,000 TL after the adjustment and any supplementary state aid needed to meet the minimum‑salary threshold. These figures apply to millions of retirees nationwide and will be finalized after the June inflation data are released, after which the government may also adjust the statutory minimum pension level.
