Turkey's Justice Minister Gürlek and President Erdoğan vow continued crackdown on FETÖ
Justice Minister Akın Gürlek addressed an "Adli Yargı Değerlendirme Toplantısı" in Ankara attended by provincial prosecutors and judicial officials. He said the ministry is expanding specialized units to tackle the evolving methods of crime, including the use of digital tools, cryptocurrencies and social media by terrorist networks. Gürlek highlighted the establishment of new directorates within the Criminal Investigation Department to investigate unsolved murders, terrorism financing, narcotics, cyber‑crime and disinformation, stressing that no case will be left in “the darkness of time.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan marked the 10th anniversary of the 15 July coup attempt, thanking the armed forces, police and security services for their role in thwarting the plot. He reiterated that the struggle against the FETÖ network will continue until its roots are completely eliminated, emphasizing the nation’s resolve to protect democracy and the rule of law.
