Kars Harakani Airport records 257,000 passengers in first five months of 2026

The State Airports Authority reported that Kars Harakani Airport handled 257,160 passengers and 1,612 flight movements between January and May 2026. During the same period the airport processed 2,286 tonnes of cargo.

In May alone, passenger numbers reached 50,742 with 312 aircraft arrivals and departures, and 426 tonnes of cargo were transported. Officials highlighted that the rise in traffic is linked to the approaching tourism season and that connections with major cities such as Istanbul and Ankara support the regional economy, tourism and trade.
