Turkey's Konya Sends Fire Crews to Assist in Antalya Forest Blaze and Trains Beekeepers on Fire Prevention
Konya Metropolitan Municipality dispatched six fire engines and 13 firefighters to the Alanya district of Antalya to help contain a forest fire, according to mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay. The teams were sent under the coordination of the Disaster Coordination Center and expressed hope that the blaze would be quickly controlled to limit damage and protect residents.
Separately, the Konya Forestry Regional Directorate and Forestry Enterprise organized a fire‑prevention training for about 242 beekeepers operating in forested areas. The program, led by regional director Mustafa Yalçın and attended by beekeepers’ union leader Adem Genç, covered fire causes, safety measures, use of extinguishing equipment and reporting procedures, aiming to improve community response and protect the “Green Homeland.”
