Turkey freezes assets of six individuals and three entities linked to FETÖ and DHKP/C

The Turkish Treasury and Finance Ministry, together with the Interior Ministry, published a decision in the Official Gazette ordering the freezing of assets belonging to six individuals and three organisations suspected of financing terrorism. The individuals linked to the FETÖ/PDY network are Hilal Kalyoncu, Celil Kalyoncu and Doğan Ertuğrul; those linked to DHKP/C are Ali Ercan Gökoğlu, Zeliha Koyupınar and Erdal Gökoğlu. The three frozen organisations are Kalyon Inc. (US‑registered), International Journalists Association e.V. (Germany) and Free Journalists Association (Austria). The decree also lifts a previous asset‑freeze on Syrian businessman Omar Alwaki, who had been designated for alleged ISIS financing, stating that the reasons for the restriction have ceased. The freeze orders are to be submitted to the Ankara Heavy Criminal Court within 48 hours, and the affected parties may appeal the decisions.
