Turkey's MP Adem Çalkın outlines development plans for Akyaka district
Member of Parliament Adem Çalkın visited the Akyaka district of Kars province, meeting with muhtars, the district governor and the mayor. During the visit he gathered residents’ concerns and outlined local priorities.
The agenda focused on reopening the East Gate border crossing, extending natural‑gas supply to the area, upgrading village roads and advancing education projects, including a planned school in Esenyayla village. Çalkın pledged to coordinate with relevant agencies to implement the initiatives and maintain ongoing consultation with the community.
The meeting emphasized the expected economic boost from the border crossing, improved living standards from natural‑gas access, and better transport and educational infrastructure for the district’s residents.
