Turkey's National Defense University sees 120,000 applicants

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that 120,000 candidates applied to the National Defense University (MSÜ) this year. Speaking at the MSÜ War Schools Diploma and Flag Handover Ceremony, Erdoğan noted that this high level of interest contrasts with many European military academies, which he stated often struggle to fill their quotas.

During the ceremony, Erdoğan also highlighted advancements in Turkey’s defense industry, noting that the domestic production rate has exceeded 82 percent. He remarked that the sector has reached a stage where it is essentially competing with itself. The event also marked the graduation of 1,276 lieutenants from the war schools.
