Turkey's New Antalya-Alanya Motorway Set to Cut Travel Time to Under 40 Minutes

Turkey is building a 122‑kilometre highway linking the coastal cities of Antalya and Alanya. The main carriageway will span 84 km with three lanes in each direction, while 38 km of feeder roads will have two lanes. Design speed on the main route is planned at 140 km/h, with 110 km/h on the connecting sections. Once completed, the route is expected to reduce the current 2.5‑hour journey to roughly 36 minutes. The project includes five tunnels, 43 underpasses and 16 viaducts, and is slated for completion within three years, although no specific opening date has been announced. The motorway aims to improve accessibility for tourists travelling from Antalya Airport to Alanya’s resorts, enhancing regional tourism and economic activity.
