Turkey's parliament adopts ten more measures in land protection and agriculture law

The Turkish Grand National Assembly convened under Deputy Speaker Tekin Bingöl to debate the 'Toprak Koruma ve Arazi Kullanımı Kanunu ile Çeltik Kanunu' amendment proposal. After brief statements from MPs, including a CHP deputy highlighting wheat prices and farmer subsidies, the parliament approved ten additional articles, completing the first segment of a 15‑article package. The new provisions allow limited 2/B cadastral applications in forest‑law areas, contingent on specific criteria, and clarify that such actions will not be treated as a second cadastral survey. Cases involving disputed land rights will be reported by the Forest General Directorate to the courts.

MHP Deputy Tamer Osmanağaoğlu also addressed the session, urging recognition of soil as a sacred national asset and calling for sustainable land management, higher agricultural productivity, and protection against GMO threats. He praised recent Turkish agri‑tech innovations showcased at the Tekno Ocak Festival, underscoring the sector’s role in national development.
