Turkey's pension funds exceed 2.6 trillion lira
According to data from the Pension Monitoring Center (EGM), the total fund size of Turkey’s Private Pension System (BES) and Automatic Enrollment System (OKS) has exceeded 2.6 trillion lira as of August 21. The combined number of participants in both systems has reached 18.2 million.
Within the BES, there are 10.3 million participants, with total funds—including state contributions—amounting to approximately 2.47 trillion lira. The number of individuals who have retired from the BES has surpassed 500,000, reaching 501,081.
The OKS component has grown to a total fund size of 163.9 billion lira with 7.8 million participants. Since the end of 2025, the total fund size across both systems has seen a 21.9% increase, representing a growth of 474.7 billion lira.
Additionally, the program for participants under the age of 18 continues to expand. As of August 21, there are 1.74 million children in the system, with their total fund size reaching 114.6 billion lira.
