Turkish President Erdoğan greets US President Trump with A+ ceremony in Ankara

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump at the Turkish Presidential Palace in Ankara with an "A+ type" official ceremony, the highest protocol level used previously only for Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto in April 2025. The reception featured mounted escorts, a 21‑cannon salute, the national anthems of both countries, and a historic display that included the flags of the 16 former Turkish states, a mehter band, Janissary‑uniformed troops and other Ottoman‑era units. Turkish Air Force’s aerobatic team "Turkish Stars" performed a color‑smoke fly‑over, and Trump greeted the guard of honor with "Merhaba asker" (Hello soldier).
