Turkey's revived waterfalls draw tourists after recent rains

The Akpınar Şelalesi in Karaman province, which dried up two years ago, began flowing again following recent precipitation. The 7‑metre drop now forms a natural pool that has become a popular spot for locals seeking relief from the summer heat. Visitor Ali Hilmi Uysal said, "2 sene önce burası kuruydu, yağışlarla birlikte şelale yeniden aktı," and called for clean upkeep of the area.

Similarly, the Koramşalı Şelalesi near Erdemli in Mersin province, which has intermittently gone dry due to past droughts, is now gushing strongly after this year’s rains. The increased water flow has attracted more nature lovers and boosted visitor numbers, highlighting the positive environmental impact of the recent rainfall on Turkey’s forested regions.

Both waterfalls illustrate how seasonal rains are revitalizing natural attractions and prompting a surge in local tourism across the affected Turkish districts.
