Turkey's Sakarya and Antalya host preschool and folk‑dance festivals for children

In Sakarya, the "Önce Okul Öncesi" project organized a series of district festivals throughout May and June to promote early childhood education. Events in districts such as Kaynarca, Akyazı, Geyve and others featured workshops on values, social‑emotional, cognitive, motor and life‑skill development, as well as science labs, arts, educational games and sports. The programme concluded on 11 June with a central festival in Serdivan, Adapazarı, Erenler and Arifiye.

Meanwhile, at Konyaaltı Primary School in Antalya, a year‑end celebration showcased regional folk dances—including zeybek, halay, horon and bar—performed by students. The ceremony included choreographed numbers such as “Masal” and “Bir Hilal Uğruna (SAYGI)”, highlighted by traditional music and a special appearance by a bağlama virtuoso. Organisers emphasised the events’ role in fostering cultural heritage, teamwork and confidence among pupils.
