Turkey's Summer Programs Reach Over 4,600 Children in Sinop and Konya

The Turkey Youth Foundation (TÜGVA) launched its annual Sinop Summer School, enrolling 1,000 students from the city and surrounding districts. Over six weeks, participants receive instruction in Qur'an studies, religious education, values, as well as academic games, sports, traditional children’s games, workshops and cultural activities. TÜGVA Sinop branch head Dr. Yusuf Çakır said, “We are delighted to host 1,000 young people, providing a program that blends learning with character development.”

Meanwhile, Karatay Municipality in Konya began a new cycle of Yaz Spor Okulları, drawing roughly 3,670 children to train in twelve sports—including football, basketball, taekwondo and swimming—under the guidance of specialist coaches. Classes run from 6 July to 30 August 2026 across 14 facilities. Mayor Hasan Kılca emphasized that the initiative “helps children grow physically, socially and morally, preparing them for a stronger future.”
