Turkey's Summer Sports Schools Enroll Over 12,000 Children

In Eskişehir, the Demirspor youth football program intensifies training for nearly 200 children, holding sessions four days a week under coaches Fatma Üner and Hakan Aydemir. The club aims to teach basic skills, keep youngsters away from harmful habits, and identify promising players for future recruitment.

Meanwhile, Konya's metropolitan municipality has launched its summer sports schools across 28 districts, registering more than 12,000 pupils aged 6‑16. The initiative offers free instruction in 25 disciplines—including athletics, basketball, football, judo and swimming—delivered by 176 qualified trainers at 56 facilities. Officials say the program promotes physical health, teamwork and social development during the school break.
