Turkey's ÖSYM Announces 2026 Teacher Exam Date and New YKS Classroom Allocation Rules

The Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) has scheduled the 2026 Teacher Qualification Level Determination Exam (2026‑STS Öğretmenlik) for tomorrow at its electronic test center in Ankara. Two halls will be used, the test starts at 13:45, lasts 80 minutes, and consists of 60 multiple‑choice questions. One hundred and sixty‑four candidates will sit the exam; a passing score is at least 40 out of 100. No extra time will be granted, and results are expected on 25 June. Security personnel and staff number 30, and six veteran applicants are exempt from the exam fee.

In a separate announcement, ÖSYM released entry documents for the university entrance exam (YKS) scheduled for 20‑21 June 2026. A new allocation algorithm will assign students to different schools or classrooms for the TYT and AYT sessions, ending the previous practice of holding both sessions in the same building. This change affects millions of test‑takers, requiring them to attend separate venues for each part of the exam.

Both measures aim to standardize testing conditions and streamline the assessment process for candidates across Turkey.
