Turkey's ÖSYM expands e‑exam system ahead of June 2026 YKS

The Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) will hold the 2026 University Entrance Exam (YKS) on 20‑21 June. The first session, the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), starts at 10:15 a.m. on 20 June for 2 425 560 candidates. The second session, the Field Proficiency Test (AYT), and the Foreign Language Test (YDT) are both scheduled for 21 June, beginning at 10:15 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. respectively, with 1 628 200 candidates for AYT. Results are slated for 22 July.

ÖSYM President Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy announced a sweeping digital‑exam expansion. The 5,000‑seat Esenboğa e‑Exam Centre, described as the world’s largest indoor e‑exam facility, will serve as a pilot. Within 1‑2 years the agency aims to conduct online exams in seven regions, then 17, then all 81 provinces, eventually supporting worldwide testing. New digital language assessments—including the Electronic Test of English Proficiency (e‑TEP), the Electronic Turkish as a Foreign Language exam (e‑YDTS), and a four‑skill Arabic exam—are being introduced to meet international standards.
