Turkey's TÜGVA Summer School opens nationwide for 550,000 youths

The TÜGVA Yaz Okulu (Summer School) program launched simultaneously in all 81 Turkish provinces, drawing about 550,000 applications from primary‑school fourth‑graders and middle‑school students. The six‑week, free program combines religious instruction—including Qur'an, basic Islamic teachings, and moral lessons—with sports such as football, basketball, volleyball, swimming, archery, as well as cultural, artistic and social activities. Organisers provided participants with bags, books and T‑shirts, and local officials, including Sarıyer District Governor Metin Maytalman and education director Hüseyin Özcanlar, attended the opening. TÜGVA General President İbrahim Beşinci said the aim is to nurture intellectually grounded youth and invited families to continue enrolling as registrations remain open.
