Turkish court puts Ahbap Association under trusteeship and appoints managers for its subsidiaries
The Istanbul 8th Civil Court transferred control of Ahbap Derneği’s assets to a three‑person trustee board as part of an investigation into alleged organized crime, qualified fraud and money‑laundering. The trustees appointed are lawyer Rıdvan Can, lawyer Mustafa Göktuğ Kaya and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kasım Han. In addition, the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) was named trustee for the association’s commercial subsidiaries, covering about 13 companies such as Ahbap İktisadi İşletmesi, Ahbap Lojistik Gayrimenkul Danışmanlık ve İnşaat A.Ş., Zirve Müzik Yapım Organizasyon, Globus Savunma Sanayi ve Bilişim A.Ş. and others. The court ordered that Ahbap’s activities be terminated, its assets placed under precautionary measures and a dissolution process begun. Five public figures – Berna Laçin, Eda Ece, Farah Zeynep Abdullah, İrem Helvacıoğlu and Kerem Bürsin – were summoned for testimony, and seven suspects were detained in connection with the probe.
