The Higher Education Council (YÖK) and the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) announced the 2026 calendar for Turkey's major national examinations. The university entrance exam (YKS) will be held on 20 June (TYT) and 21 June (AYT and YDT). About 2.43 million candidates registered for the TYT, 1.63 million for the AYT and 203 000 for the foreign‑language test.
The public‑service exam (KPSS) will open applications from 1 July to 13 July for the licence track, with the written tests scheduled for 6 September (general ability) and 12–13 September (subject‑specific). The mid‑level (Ortaöğretim) session will be on 25 October, and results are expected on 19 November. The DGS (vertical transition exam) is set for 19 July.
The secondary‑school transition exam (LGS) attracted 1,022,658 candidates across 81 provinces and 8 foreign centres; answer keys were released on 15 June and results will be published on 10 July.
Education experts also issued preparation tips for the YKS, emphasizing time‑management, avoiding new topics in the final days, and maintaining healthy routines.
