Turkey's used‑car price growth slows as VavaCars index shows modest rise

VavaCars' AI‑driven "VavaAI Price Index" for July 2026 indicates that Turkey's used‑car market saw a month‑on‑month price increase of just 0.2%, and a year‑to‑date rise of 5.2% since the start of the year. Over the same period, inflation ran at 19.9%, meaning the price growth was roughly one‑quarter of overall price pressures.

The index also shows a 12‑month cumulative increase of 12.9% from July 2025 to July 2026. Analysts note that the slowdown after earlier rapid gains points to a more balanced market, with financing conditions and demand expected to shape future price movements. VavaCars Commercial Group President Serdıl Gözelekli highlighted that the index remains behind inflation and exchange‑rate trends, and that credit availability and buyer sentiment will be decisive for the sector.
