Turkey's women's cooperatives reach 1,342 entities

Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat announced that the number of women's cooperatives in Turkey has reached 1,342. These cooperatives operate in various sectors, including food production, handicrafts, textiles, cosmetics, and agriculture.

Speaking at the conclusion of the KooPro project, Bolat highlighted the success of the Cooperatives Support Program (KOOP-DES). He noted that legislative changes have eased the burden on cooperatives primarily composed of women and disadvantaged individuals by removing certain obligations and providing exemptions from registration fees, announcement costs, and annual dues.

Bolat also emphasized that the export volume of these women's cooperatives is projected to reach $96 million by 2025. The Ministry of Trade continues to coordinate with the Ministry of Family and Social Services and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to strengthen these organizations through training and awareness programs.
