Turkey's Yeniden Refah Party and Öz Sağlık‑İş Union Leaders Resign
Tamer Gümüş, the Niğde provincial chairman of the Yeniden Refah Party, announced his decision to step down from the post, citing increasing work demands. In a written statement he asked party leader Dr. Fatih Erbakan for forgiveness, thanked party members and the people of Niğde, and said a new appointment will be announced by the central organization.
Mehmet Yeşilyurt, an information‑systems supervisor at Necip Fazıl Şehir Hospital, resigned from his roles as deputy branch president and organization president of the Öz Sağlık‑İş Union’s Kahramanmaraş branch. He criticised the branch management and the delegate‑selection process as opaque and undemocratic, emphasizing that his resignation is a stand against injustice rather than a retreat. Yeşilyurt said he will continue to support workers without seeking any official position.
