Turkey's Yozgat Purple Fields and Hakkari Cennet Cehennem Valley Draw Tourists

In Yozgat’s Bayındırhüyük village, farms left fallow have spontaneously produced a carpet of purple orchid‑like flowers, creating a striking visual display. Local official Süleyman Başkan stopped his drive to photograph the scene, saying, "Yoldan geçerken çok güzel görüntü gördüm. Uğradım, fotoğraf çekmek istedim." The blossoms are expected to remain attractive to visitors until they fade.

Further east, the Cennet Cehennem Valley in Hakkari’s Cilo Mountains—declared a national park six years ago—offers a four‑season landscape of snow‑capped peaks, glacial streams, and colourful alpine meadows. Travelers from across Turkey and abroad, including a running club from Van and a visitor from England, report that the area provides opportunities for hiking, running, motorcycling, camping and mountaineering. One guest urged, "Lütfen çöpleri toplayıp çöp noktalarına atalım," while another exclaimed, "Buraya mutlaka gelin," highlighting both the valley’s appeal and concerns about litter.

Both sites have seen increased visitor numbers, turning these natural spectacles into popular photo‑spots and outdoor‑recreation destinations.
