Turki Alalshikh claims Dua Lipa declined Fury-Joshua fight performance

During a press conference for the upcoming heavyweight bout between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, Saudi boxing financier Turki Alalshikh claimed that pop singer Dua Lipa declined an offer to perform at the event. Alalshikh suggested the singer’s refusal might be due to a dislike of boxing or potential personal issues with him, stating, “I think she has something with the Arabs.” There is currently no independent confirmation regarding the alleged performance offer or the reasons for her reported refusal.

Alalshikh also addressed the selection of Cardiff’s Principality Stadium as the fight venue over London’s Wembley Stadium or New York’s Madison Square Garden. He explained that Wembley could not accommodate his requirement for the event to run until approximately 2 a.m. to serve international audiences. Organizers have indicated they will instead seek an “iconic UK act” to perform at the match.
