The 2nd Traditional Turkish World Poets and Writers Meeting was held in Talas, Kayseri, bringing together 33 poets and writers from 13 different countries. Organized by Talas Municipality in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, TİKA, and the Turkish Literature Foundation, the event featured cultural performances, including Mehter marches and theatrical displays of Dede Korkut.

During the gathering, participants emphasized the role of literature in maintaining national identity and strengthening the bonds between Turkic states. Serhat Kabaklı, Chairman of the Turkish Literature Foundation, noted that literature is a vital force that allows nations to endure.

In a specific statement issued during the meeting, Azerbaijani poet Sabir Rustemkhanli condemned recent social media discourse regarding Azerbaijan’s implementation of unified school uniforms, describing such criticisms as attempts to undermine the brotherhood between Turkey and Azerbaijan and to weaken the Organization of Turkic States.
