Turkish Actress Beren Sat Gains Fame for Iconic Roles in ‘Forbidden Fruit’ and ‘Lost Honor’

Turkish actress Beren Sat was born on 26 February 1984 in Ankara. After studying at TED Ankara College and graduating from Baškent University, she entered the television talent competition “Turkish Stars,” finishing as the runner‑up. Producer Tomris Giritlioglu discovered her there, launching her acting career.

Sat made her screen debut in 2004, but her breakout role came in 2008 as Bihter Joreoglu in the series “Forbidden Fruit” (original title “Aşk‑ı Memnu”). The drama became a phenomenon across dozens of countries, earning Sat the Golden Butterfly awards in 2009 and 2010. She later starred as Fatmagül in “Lost Honor” and most recently portrays the historic Sultan Kösem in a series on Kurir TV. Sat is regarded as one of Turkey’s most awarded and influential television actresses.
