Turkish Actress Melisa Döngel Implicated in Drug Probe
Prosecutors in Istanbul continued a high‑profile drug investigation that targets celebrities and online narcotics dealers. Criminal forensic analysis of actress Melisa Döngel’s phone uncovered messages in which she asked, "Kok no acil lazım kanka" and arranged the purchase of three doses, as well as photographs showing her using the substances. The investigation linked her to several Telegram‑based dealers, prompting the Istanbul Gendarmerie and intelligence units to raid two districts and detain 43 suspects accused of selling drugs online.
The joint operation, coordinated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Gendarmerie Command and the local MIT office, aimed at dismantling the illicit network operating on social‑media platforms. The digital evidence, including chats with individuals identified as Mert A., Ekrem K. and Buket G., and images of cocaine and cannabis, were entered into the case file. Authorities say further details will emerge as the probe proceeds.
