Turkish Actress Meltem Akçöl Cast as Lead in New Drama “Sevdam Karadeniz”

Meltem Akçöl has been confirmed as the female lead of the upcoming Turkish drama series “Sevdam Karadeniz.” She will portray Zeyşan Yeniceli, a determined and independent young woman whose story drives the series’ central conflicts. The production, overseen by producer Banu Akdeniz and the company Mia Yapım, will be shot mainly in Trabzon on the Black Sea coast, using the region’s coastline, forests, mountains and traditional architecture for authenticity. Akçöl initially declined the role due to a scheduling clash with the film “Babamın Damadı,” but the filming timetable was later adjusted, allowing her to accept. The series is expected to combine family drama, romance and regional customs, marking Akçöl’s first major television lead after recent film work.
