Turkish Aerospace and Lockheed Martin Resume T‑70 Black Hawk Production
Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) and Lockheed Martin have reached an agreement to restart production of the T‑70 version of the Black Hawk helicopter under the Turkey General Purpose Helicopter Program (TUHP). Export licences for a new batch of 39 helicopters have been secured, and the companies expect assembly to begin within 12 to 18 months. This follows the earlier production of 38 helicopters before the programme was halted due to U.S. sanctions. Lockheed Martin will supply the additional kits, and TUSAŞ says the remaining 32 kits are also secured, keeping the target of 109 total helicopters achievable.
During the same period, TUSAŞ highlighted progress on related projects, including the development of the indigenous T‑925 utility helicopter, the advanced HÜRJET jet trainer, and updates on its unmanned ANKA III and fighter‑training Kaan programs.
