Turkish Airlines delays Havana flight resumption to March 2027

Turkish Airlines has postponed the resumption of its direct flights to Havana, Cuba, once again. According to AeroRoutes, the airline now targets the week of March 28, 2027, for the restart of the route, delaying the previous target of October 25, 2026.

The airline suspended regular operations to Havana in March 2026, citing a collapse in tourism demand and a critical shortage of aviation fuel in Cuba. Currently, passengers traveling via Turkish Airlines to Cuba must connect through Panama using Copa Airlines.

This delay follows similar trends among other carriers. Iberia has announced that its direct flights to the island will remain suspended until at least July 2027, citing the severe energy situation in Cuba which significantly impacts both travel demand and operational logistics. Other airlines, such as Air Europa, have also had to modify routes due to Jet A fuel limitations.
