Turkish Airlines expands fleet to 552 aircraft and revises Osaka route from September 2026

Turkish Airlines reported a net profit of $197 million for the second quarter of 2026, with total revenue of $7.2 billion, a 20.5% year‑on‑year increase. The carrier grew its fleet by 14% to 552 aircraft and saw cargo revenue jump 58% to nearly $1.3 billion, while EBITDA exceeded $900 million with a 12.6% margin, despite higher fuel costs and geopolitical pressure from the Middle East conflict.

Starting in September 2026 the airline will adjust the aircraft deployed on its Istanbul‑Osaka (Kansai) long‑haul service. The schedule change is intended to optimise capacity and yield on the route, affecting seat‑kilometre costs, cargo belly‑space availability and corporate travel planning between Turkey and Japan.
