Turkish Airlines finalizes order for up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX jets

Turkish Airlines has finalized an agreement with Boeing to acquire up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The deal includes 100 firm orders for the 737-8 model and 50 options. The agreement also provides the airline with the flexibility to switch to the larger 737-10 model to meet varying passenger demands.

This transaction represents the carrier’s largest single-aisle aircraft order with Boeing to date. The new jets are intended to bolster the airline’s short- and medium-haul networks, particularly on high-demand domestic and international routes. The aircraft are expected to reduce fuel consumption and emissions by approximately 20%.

The deal follows previous negotiations and a 2025 order for 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Beyond the aircraft procurement, Turkish Airlines and Boeing have signed a strategic memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing Turkey’s aviation ecosystem through technical capability development, technology sharing, and industrial cooperation.
