Turkish Airlines flight to Toronto diverts to Manchester after technical fault

A Turkish Airlines Boeing 777-300ER operating flight TK17 departed Istanbul Airport for Toronto Pearson International Airport on July 28. About four hours into the transatlantic crossing, the crew reported a technical fault while cruising over the North Sea and entered a holding pattern at 26,000 feet.

The aircraft was vectored to Manchester Airport in the United Kingdom, where it landed safely on runway 23L. Fire engines were on standby before the plane touched down. Engineers inspected the aircraft, resolved the issue, refueled it, and the flight resumed its journey to Toronto a few hours later.
