Turkish Airlines signs engine and maintenance deal with CFM International
Turkish Airlines has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CFM International to secure engines and maintenance services for its Boeing 737 MAX fleet. The agreement covers the procurement of up to 295 LEAP-1B engines and spare engines to support up to 150 aircraft. This includes 100 firm orders and 50 options previously placed with Boeing, as well as up to 145 engines for aircraft currently in the fleet or to be added via leasing.
The partnership also includes long-term service support for the airline’s entire LEAP-1B engine fleet, including those operated by its subsidiary, AJet. A key component of the MOU is the establishment of an engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility within Turkish Technic. CFM International will provide the necessary licenses and support to develop these advanced module and part repair capabilities in Turkey, with the intention that the center may eventually serve other airlines.
