Turkish and Cypriot Opposition MPs Criticize Government Policies

CHP Elazığ MP Gürsel Erol told a Kanal Fırat interview that national security, not the economy, is the top priority for Turkey. He condemned fear‑based politics, naming President Erdoğan as the source of voter fear, and urged his party to present candidates with a "state‑manager" profile rather than relying on street slogans.

CTP MP Erkut Şahali used his social‑media account to denounce the Turkish government’s handling of public finances, rising debt and resource misuse. He pledged that, if the CTP reaches power, it will not reduce existing tax debts, will cut unnecessary spending, enforce merit‑based hiring, and protect judicial independence without pardoning sentences.
