Syrian and Turkish armies complete floating bridge over Euphrates
The Syrian and Turkish armed forces have completed the construction of a floating military bridge over the Euphrates River in the Al-Mayadin area of Deir ez-Zor. The project, completed on August 30, serves as a replacement for a previous crossing that was destroyed by flooding.
This marks the second joint bridge project undertaken by the two militaries. Syrian Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra stated that the bridge is intended to ease the transport burden on local residents, facilitating the movement of people, students, and medical patients, as well as the transport of agricultural products and essential goods.
Abu Qasra expressed gratitude to Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler for his efforts in strengthening trust and cooperation between the two nations. The bridge is considered a temporary emergency solution to restore connectivity while permanent infrastructure repairs are addressed.
