Turkish authorities drop investigation into Erol Köse death

Authorities have issued a non-prosecution decision regarding the death of music producer Erol Köse, who died after falling from the 16th floor of a residential building in the Maslak neighborhood of Istanbul's Sarıyer district on March 23, 2026.

The investigation included the examination of three mobile phones belonging to Köse. While two of the devices could not be unlocked, the contents of the third phone provided no evidence suggesting the death was suspicious or that third parties were involved.

Forensic medical reports concluded that the cause of death was general body trauma resulting from the fall. Due to a lack of evidence indicating intent, fault, or responsibility by any third party, the investigation has been closed.
