Turkish authorities host large children celebrations in Diyarbakır and Istanbul
In Diyarbakır, the regional Vakıflar Directorate organized a circumcision ceremony for 30 boys, providing traditional clothing, a city convoy, prayers at Selahaddin Eyyubi Mosque and a visit to a specially prepared playground. Director Hakan Demir highlighted the event as a continuation of a 530‑year‑old charitable tradition.
In Istanbul, Governor Davut Gül attended a children's day program that featured a colorful convoy of classic cars, the domestic TOGG vehicle and motorbike clubs moving from Taksim Square to the Hagia Sophia Mosque. After prayers, children received gifts and enjoyed games at a university campus. Participants praised the festive atmosphere and the blend of cultural and spiritual activities.
