Turkish authorities inspect seeds, seedlings and meat sales points for safety compliance
In Afyonkarahisar's İscehisar district, the provincial Agriculture and Forest Directorate carried out inspections of seeds, seedlings and saplings sold in local markets. Inspectors verified certification documents, evaluated compliance with regulations, and provided information to producers and sellers about the use of certified planting material and record‑keeping requirements.
In Tekirdağ, the provincial Agriculture and Forest Directorate similarly inspected butcher shops, meat‑processing facilities and meat sales points. The checks, conducted under the Veterinarian Services, Plant Health, Food and Feed Law, covered hygiene conditions, storage temperatures, traceability records, labeling and staff hygiene. Violations resulted in administrative actions and additional guidance was given to operators to ensure reliable, safe food for consumers.
