Bursa woman driver arrested after 2.34‰ drunk crash, license suspended

On 6 August 2026, a female driver in Bursa’s Yıldırım district, Bağlaraltı neighbourhood, crashed her car into a parked vehicle. The impact tipped the car onto its side but the driver escaped without injury. A police alcohol test recorded a blood‑alcohol level of 2.34 ‰. When questioned by journalists, she replied “Sanane” and later threatened the owner of the parked car, saying “Ne dik dik bakıyorsun, bir sorunun varsa gel.” A police officer responded, “Burada köy yanmış, siz neyin derdindesiniz.” The driver was detained, her licence was suspended for six months and she was fined 25 000 TL. The incident sparked public criticism of her confrontational attitude toward police and other road users.
