Gebze hosts second annual Drift Festival for motorsport enthusiasts

The Gebze Municipality held its second annual Drift Festival at the Mevlana Closed Market open parking lot. The event featured modified vehicles and professional drift pilots, including Abbas Çimen, performing controlled maneuvers such as tire burning and drifting in a closed environment to promote safe motorsport practices over illegal street drifting.

Gebze Mayor Zinnur Büyükgöz attended the event, participating in a drift experience and emphasizing the municipality's commitment to developing Gebze as a sports city. He noted that the festival aims to provide a professional environment for youth and enthusiasts, with plans to improve infrastructure for better spectator viewing in future years.
