Turkish banks expand mobile apps to include vehicle sales and phone rentals
Banks in Turkey are expanding the scope of their mobile applications by integrating non-traditional consumer services into their digital platforms. A significant shift includes the facilitation of second-hand vehicle transactions. Through mobile banking apps, users can browse vehicle portfolios, compare technical specifications, and view expert reports and damage records (Tramer). Some platforms even allow users to request purchases, estimate market values, and manage HGS or insurance processes.
Beyond automotive services, banks are introducing consumer electronics rentals, such as iPhone rental services. These applications allow users to manage device selection, contracts, payments, and delivery tracking entirely within the banking interface.
For existing vehicle owners, these digital tools offer features to track vehicle-related expenses and important maintenance dates. Additionally, some systems aim to secure sale amounts through digital channels until notary procedures are finalized, streamlining the second-hand market process.
