Turkish beekeeper exports natural honey to Europe for 20 years

Hayrettin Kurtçu, a retired prison guard from Turkey, has transformed a hobby into a 50-year beekeeping career. Starting with 25 hives, he has expanded his production to 160 hives, producing between 800 kilograms and 1 ton of honey annually.

His products, which include blackthorn, thyme, and mountain basil honey, have been exported to the United Kingdom and Austria for 20 years. Kurtçu noted that his honey has successfully passed laboratory analyses in Europe, confirming it is pure and additive-free. He has become a mentor to other producers in his region, having been the first to introduce beekeeping to his neighborhood.
