Turkish business delegation to visit Hong Kong for Belt and Road Summit

The Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK) Turkey-Hong Kong Business Council is planning a delegation visit to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region from September 7 to 11. The visit is organized within the framework of the “Belt and Road Summit” and aims to strengthen economic and commercial ties, evaluate investment opportunities, and increase direct contact between the business communities of Turkey and Hong Kong.

Expected participating sectors include infrastructure, construction, banking, finance, mining, technology, innovation, electronics, energy, and logistics. The program will feature bilateral business-to-business (B2B) and investor meetings to facilitate Turkish companies' involvement in Belt and Road Initiative projects.

According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Turkey’s exports to Hong Kong increased by 9.2 percent last year, reaching 976.2 million dollars. During the same period, imports from Hong Kong totaled 65.2 million dollars, resulting in a trade surplus of 911 million dollars for Turkey. The total trade volume between the two regions reached approximately 1 billion dollars last year. Key Turkish exports to Hong Kong included jewelry, machinery, electrical equipment, ships, and iron and steel.
