Turkish business leaders call for integrity in Chamber elections

Business leaders in Turkey are calling for integrity and independence in upcoming Chamber of Commerce and Industry elections.

In Karabük, MHP Provincial Chairman Cenk Gedikoğlu addressed tensions surrounding the Karabük Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KTSO) elections. Gedikoğlu emphasized that the election process must not be used as a tool for political maneuvering and urged for a peaceful environment. He stated that the party would not allow the elections to be exploited for political purposes and noted that he has met with AK Party officials to ensure no political pressure or threats are directed at members during the voting process.

Similarly, in Mardin, Hatip Çelik, the President and candidate for the Mardin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MTSO), issued a call for a peaceful and ethical election process. With 15 days remaining until the vote, Çelik emphasized the importance of the ‘free will’ of merchants and industrialists. He cautioned against artificial incentives or unethical guidance, noting that while elections are temporary competitions, the professional relationships and common interests of the Mardin business community must remain intact.
