Turkish business leaders launch new regional trade and industrial initiatives

In Bursa, Özer Matlı, a candidate for the presidency of the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO), has launched the ‘Working Together Center’. The initiative aims to reconnect the chamber with its 60,000 members through principles of transparency and justice. Matlı’s vision includes restructuring 70 professional committees to function as project-oriented centers with specific budgets and authorities, rather than just advisory bodies, to drive industrial and commercial transformation in the region.

Simultaneously, the Çerkezköy Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ÇTSO) is advancing international trade efforts through a planned Thrace Trade and Logistics Center in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Developed in cooperation with the Çorlu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and authorized by the Turkish Ministry of Trade, the center is expected to feature approximately 50 offices within a customs warehouse area. The project aims to provide ÇTSO members and SMEs with easier access to Balkan and European Union markets by leveraging Plovdiv’s strategic land and rail connections for storage, distribution, and business development.
