Turkish capital markets see major shareholder and fund investment disclosures
Recent data from the Central Securities Depository of Turkey (MKK) and the Capital Markets Board (SPK) have revealed significant shifts in shareholder structures and large-scale fund investments within the Turkish market.
According to MKK disclosures, several companies experienced changes in ownership ratios, including Bilici Yatırım, Çitlekçi Mağazacılık, Kartonsan, Katılımevim, Manas Enerji, Odine Solutions, Özata Denizcilik, Pasifik Eurasia Lojistik, and Tera Yatırım. Notably, Bilici Yatırım underwent a substantial capital increase, raising its capital from 100 million TL to over 558 million TL, which led to significant changes in the ownership percentages of various shareholders.
Simultaneously, new regulations requiring the disclosure of major shareholders exceeding a 30% threshold in investment funds have brought new financial holdings to light. Data shows that the Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı General Headquarters holds 1,221,238,830 participation shares in the Aktif Portföy Money Market Participation Fund (TLK). This investment represents a 59.65% stake in the fund, with a market value of approximately 2.18 billion Turkish Liras.
These disclosures follow increased scrutiny of market transparency and manipulation in Borsa Istanbul, including warnings from MSCI regarding information flow and price formation in Turkish capital markets.
