Turkish celebrity doctor Mehmet Rahşan sent to court on drug‑related arrest request
Istanbul authorities have intensified a drug investigation that targets Mehmet Rahşan, known as the "doctor of celebrities." Under the coordination of the Bakırköy Public Prosecutor's Office, the Istanbul Gendarmerie conducted a large‑scale operation, detaining 11 suspects and forwarding them to the court. Prosecutors have asked a judge to order Rahşan’s pre‑trial detention, and his case has been transferred to the judiciary for a decision.
In addition to Rahşan, the prosecution seeks judicial control and travel bans for a number of well‑known figures, including actors and social‑media personalities such as Aslıhan Turanlı, Volkan Bahçekapılı, Kübra İmren Siyahdemir, Aycan Yağcı, Tuğçe Postoğlu, Eda Dora, Hakan Aydın, Cansu Tekin, Berkay Şahin and Yaşar Özdaş. Digital material, phone records and other electronic evidence are being examined as part of the probe, and the court’s ruling on Rahşan’s detention is anticipated soon.
