Turkish Chamber of Commerce disputes Montenegro real estate exit claims
The Turkish Chamber of Commerce in Montenegro has disputed media reports claiming a mass exodus of Turkish citizens and a collapse of the real estate market in Budva. The Chamber maintains that official data contradicts these claims.
Citing statistics from the Central Bank of Montenegro, the Chamber reported a positive net inflow of Turkish investment in real estate totaling approximately 46.97 million euros in 2025. For the first seven months of 2026, the net inflow in the real estate sector reached approximately 12.28 million euros.
Burhan Genc, president of the Turkish Chamber of Commerce in Montenegro, emphasized the importance of basing market assessments on verifiable official statistics to ensure a proper understanding of the economic contributions made by Turkish entrepreneurs to the Montenegrin economy.
